The City Council and the Spanish company rental and leasing motorcycles Cooltra presented eCooltra motosharing, a rental service of electric motorcycles per minute with an initial rate that ranges between 0.20 euros and 0.30 euros per minute, as has the company reported.
With an initial investment of 1.5 million euros, the company will start operation in March with a fleet of 250 electric scooters in the city of Barcelona. After launching the service in Barcelona Cooltra it plans to expand the fleet and reach other capitals of Europe and the United States, with a forecast for 2016 of 1,050 electric scooters in different European cities. Throughout 2016, eCooltra Motosharing enter Madrid, Milan and Paris with 250 electric motorcycles in each city. The Spanish company Cooltra, born in 2006 with contributions from investment funds and Caixa Capital Risc, Finaves-from business school IESE, Grupo HS3 and several family offices in Spain and Germany, has undergone a major expansion in a few years. It’s been renting 50 scooters by a single office in Barcelona to have a fleet of 4,500 motorcycles (500 electric scooters), 11 regional offices in Spain, 2 in Italy, 2 in France and 1 in Brazil, more than 100 rental outlets in southern Europe and a workforce that reaches more than 100 employees. Its turnover is currently 7 million euros in 2016 and expects to reach 11 million euros, 1.5 eCooltra motosharing service.
eCooltra motosharing: Through a free float, free parking system, you can return your scooter in any legal parking space within an area of 40 square km back. Through a user app locates the scooter, making the booking, you use it and pay. The service also includes a comprehensive insurance with excess for vehicle damage and damage to unlimited third.
How does it work? From a smartphone and by eCooltra motosharing app, users can geotag nearby scooters and click on the one you want to book.
Once the reservation is made, eCooltra offers 30 minutes to get to the scooter before the reserve is automatically canceled. Of these 30 minutes, the first 15 are free, so you can pick up the scooter and start the movement or cancel the reservation without charge. Once you found the scooter reserved the user unlocks the seat to take the town and turns on the motorbike by app (keyless start).
