Icona company, founded by Italians but located in Shanghai, specializes in design and development of prototypes. After launching in 2015 in Shanghai the prototype of an electric car, this model, called NEO, is presented in Paris at the Exposition and Design Concept Cars Automobile, with its doors open from 27 January to 31 January 2016 .
Italy has always been the cradle of automotive design, but after the closure of some of its biggest companies like Bertone and Pininfarina, the beautiful Italian lines have gone to Asian countries. Shanghai is one of these places. Icona working on his concept electric vehicle Neo town with asymmetrical design and very oriented current appearance is offered by this great metropolis, with its large and peculiar skyscrapers. The Neo fits well into this architecture.
It has three doors, one next to the driver and two on the side of the companions, but with four seats. Large moons toward the ceiling let see, so its designers, the skyline of the city. The idea is taken from Shanghai taxis, which also typically have two doors to one side and only one for the other. The two doors open in opposite direction to each other, leaving as the vehicle does not have a central pillar, a great opening to enter.
Italy speaks of the use of motors in the wheel hubs, able to give a speed of 120 km / h and a range of 150 kilometers. The engines, developed in Italy by ACT and Italtechnica have a total of 28 horsepower and weigh about 130 kg, to which must be added about 90 kg of batteries. Vehicle dimensions are a length of 3.4 meters, a width of 1.63 meters and height of 1.5 meters with 2.2 meter battle. The most prominent are issues as a particular very futuristic design, good passenger safety and acceptable performance for the city’s future.
