A pioneering initiative to use the bicycle in Spain
Ingeteam Service, a company belonging to Ingeteam Group, has launched a pioneering initiative to promote the use of bicycles and electric bicycles and thus support sustainable and efficient mobility. The company will pay one euro a day to its workers who go to work by bicycle and install new covered bicycle racks at its facilities Thus, in addition to reducing vehicle emissions, improve health and general welfare of the employees.
This is a pilot project that the company launched in Albacete (Spain), a town where his headquarters and one of the best Spanish cities adapted to the bicycle transportation, mainly due to logistical and security issues. Proof of this are the 42 km of lanes in urban area for the exclusive use of bicycles, along with more than 120 km in greenways, put, paths and bicycle lanes routes network, makes it the ideal city to promote the use of bikes.
Elsewhere in Europe there are tax incentives or subsidies to promote commuting by bicycle, for example in the UK, France or Denmark, but not in Spain.
To motivate more workers and to join this sustainable initiative, the company has signed a collaboration agreement with the Science and Technology Park of Castilla La Mancha, which includes the installation of two bicycle parking covered.
