The project consists of 5 semi fast charging stations with two points each and 5 other fast-charging stations. The company DBT, one of Europe’s leading assembly fast charging stations, has announced the installation of 10 charging stations for electric cars powered by solar energy in Jordan which will be operational from July. The initiative has received funding from the government through the bottom FASEP-Innovation verte supporting pilot demonstration using innovative technologies and green energy projects.
Five of these charging stations semi fast may serve two electric cars simultaneously and be able to charge their batteries in less than 4 hours. The other five fast-charging stations will have three quick charge standards existing in the current market, CHAdeMO, Combo, and Mennekes.
100% renewable energy in charging stations
The stations planned by DBT company for this project will be powered by solar panels manufacturer Hyseo International and the energy produced is stored in lithium-ions batteries, which gives access to the lowest rates of existing electricity in the market.
The strong dependence of Jordan on fossil fuels and the steady increase in the number of combustion vehicles have led authorities to implement an environmental policy that favors clean energy, particularly through measures to encourage the use of electric vehicles.
