Five hundred plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in 2015 in Spain are Porsche; Cayenne is the fourth in the ranking of sales of plug-in vehicles.
Porsche closed the year 2015 with total sales in Spain increased by 28.5% over the previous year, above the average of the total market stood at 21% rate. But if there is a segment where the evolution of the Stuttgart brand is emphasized especially that of plug-in hybrid vehicles, where sales have increased 113% in 2015.
Surely the Spanish market vehicles (both hybrids and plug-in hybrid and electric pure) electric technology is gaining weight. In a very short time it has gone from marginal figures to have a share of 2% of total sales, with growth of 53% last year, well above the overall performance of the sector (+ 21%). For almost 5 Porsche 100 sports sold in 2015 in Spain employ this technology.
Porsche, with three plug-in hybrid models (Cayenne, Panamera and 918 Spyder), despite being a unique signature and, therefore, with a sales volume not exceeding 0.2% of the national market, in paragraph plug-in hybrid that quota reaches no less than 11%, ie, more than one in ten vehicles registered in Spain is a Porsche. For models, the Cayenne is the fourth in the ranking of sales of plug-in vehicles.
The competition as a laboratory
Porsche is betting on electric propulsion in different formats for several years, also the world of racing laboratory is serving to transfer mass production all the progress being achieved. Just two years ago Porsche returned to the World Endurance Championship with the 919 Hybrid, hybrid prototypes sophisticated tests like running in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They have to meet very strict rules, where the amount of power available is limited for each lap. In this context, engineers have worked so hard to get recharge the batteries through the braking and exhaust, to store all the energy generated, which is then applied in the phases of acceleration.
Thus, the 919 Hybrid have reached optimum performance, combining an absolutely spectacular performance with fuel consumption adjusted. The result, after two years of participation in the contest, can not be better: brand world champions and drivers with six straight wins in the final races.
The first 100% electric sports, the Mission E
In this line, Porsche has laid the foundation for the next step in the series production models. In early December last year gave the green light to the project to produce the first 100% electric sports history, the Mission E, a four-door, four individual seats with more than 600 horsepower.
In addition to outstanding performance, which can go from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, this vehicle, which will be launched at the end of the decade, will have a range greater than 500 kilometers and can load 80 % of its battery in fifteen minutes.
